In this year 255 Illegal Arms & 253 illegal ammunitions were seized and 217 cases under different sections of Arms Act have been registered.

In this year 706 of Bombs Details are given below.

9,260 Gelatin Sticks,15,070 Detonators and 104.5 Kgs of Explosive materials were seized and 50 cases under different section of Explosive Act have been registered.

During this year 1436 Kgs of Poppy Straw, 189.5 Kgs Poppy peel, 17 Kgs Poppy Pod, 70.3 Kgs Ganja, 295 Gms Heroine, 2.4 Kgs Opium & 245 Gms Brown Sugar have been seized. Also 30 nos of cases under different sections of NDPS Act have been registered.

In this year 64 nos of Police Assistance Booths were organized by Birbhum District Police to enhance Police-Public relations especially at the remote village areas of this District. Like every year this year too total 21 social/legal/traffic awareness programmes were arranged by the PSs. Road safety week was celebrated on and from 11 th to 17 th January throughout the District when different police units of this District arranged several programmes like traffic awareness camps at all the important road junctions. Discussions on traffic issues, circulation of leaflets amongst the passer-by, riders & drivers, holding of procession with the help of school students etc with a view to make general people aware on traffic laws & rule.

Facilitation programme for meritorious students of this District were arranged at PS level after the declaration of the results of the Madhyamik& Higher Secondary Examination. Also Free Study Centres for Poor School students of this District are running at Nanoor, Panrui & Santiniketan PSs. In collaboration with the Agricultural Department of Biswabharati University, Birbhum District Police arranged a workshop for the Poultry Farms at Panrui PS.  

During the festive occasions especially during Rakhibandhan, Durgapuja, Idd, Muharram & Kalipuja different programmes on community policing like Sit & Draw competition for the children, Quiz competition, cultural programme in collaboration with Local Clubs/NGOs/Societies, facilitation programme for the best organizers, Iftar Parties, etc were arranged at the PS level.

In collaboration with different NGOs and Medical Organizations, Birbhum District Police is organizing free Health Check-up Camps, Eye Camps, Blood Donation Camps, Football Tournaments, Volleyball Tournaments, Badminton Tournaments etc at different remote pockets, throughout the year. Marathon and Cycle Racing were also arranged at some of the PS areas.

On 17.06.17 a felicitation program (Khola Hawa) was organised on behalf of Birbhum District Police at Bhagat Singh Park, Suri, Birbhum, in which several dignitaries, DM Birbhum, SP Birbhum, ADM, General Birbhum, Addl. SP Birbhum, Dy.SP (D&T), Birbhum where candidates who have passed Madhamik and Higher Secondary Pariksha with significant ranking and passed remarkable numbers amidst adversity condition were felicitated.

On 24.06.2017 a Health Check Up camp (UTSARGA) was organised by Suri Women PS and Suri PS at Koma High School, Koma under Suri PS. Total 416 no of local male/female attended the said health check up camp.

Inauguration program was held at Suri Town by Birbhum District Police where 57 CCTV Cameras were installed at different places of Suri Town to upgrade traffic system, crime detection and to ensure safety and security to general public. Also leaflets were distributed to sensitize general public in respect to crime occurring on the way from ATM Counters / Banks etc.  The program was attended by Hon’ble Shri Ashis Banerjee, MIC, WB,  Shri P. Mohan Gandhi, IAS, DM, Birbhum, Shri N. Sudheer Kumar, IPS, SP, Birbhum and other dignitaries.

On 30.06.17 as per information ASI Narayan Rajak along with accompanying force went to Indragacha village and stopped a marriage of a minor Girl Payel Dom (13 yrs) D/o- Nimai Dom of Indragacha, PS- Suri, Dist- Birbhum

On 21.06.17 from Sri Amra village under Dumka PS, Jharkhand on tip source information and with the assistance of the Dumka PS Officials, Jharkhand arrested the accd-- Biswajit Lohar @ Bolder (21) s/o Ramesh Lohar of Hatzan Bazar PS-Suri Dist-Birbhum and the minor victim girl Mahajara Khatoon @ Chumki was recovered from his possession in c/w Suri PS Case No-222/17 dtd-20.06.17 u/s 363/366 IPC.

On 08.07.2017 Birbhum District Police was organized a felicitation programme “PRERANA” at Khayrasole Police Station premises to encourage the meritorious students of Dubrajpur, Khayrasole, Kankartala, Lokepur, Rajnagar and Chandrapur PS area, who have scored highest marks in their school in the year 2017 in Madhyamik and Higher Secondary Examination. The program was attended by DM, Birbhum, SP, Birbhum, MLA, Dubrajpur, SDO Sadar Suri, Dy.SP(HQ), Birbhum, Dy.SP(DEB), Birbhum and other dignitaries.

Dubrajpur PS arrested two accused persons namely Sk. Alamgir @ Babu of Kantore village and Sk. Rasid @ Liltu of Salunchi both of PS Dubrajpur and recovered three motorcyles from them and forwarded with PC remand. Their remand period recovered seven motorcyles more and arrested another two accused persons namely Sk. Manoj @ Bahadur of Salunchi PS Dubrajpur and Sk Kalam of Baraban PS Lokpur.

Birbhum District Police is on a campaign “Operation Muskan” throughout Birbhum district to recover / rescue  the missing children.

Rally on Safe Drive Save Life, Anti Drug and Anit Human Trafficking at Krishnapur village under Khayrasole PS on 02.08.2017

On 06/08/2017 one free Eye Check Up Camp at Babuijore Dharinidhar High School organized with joint effort of Shankara Netralay and Kankartala Police Station. Out of 241 patient, 72 patient booked for cataract operation and as per their prescription 140 spectacles have been distributed among the patient.

On 09-08-2017 organised a friendly football match at Madpur School Football ground under Nanoor PS in between police team combination with Nanoor & Labpur PSs and a  joint team combination with Gumai & Dakshin Durgapur village  with a view to promote communal harmony amongst the villagers  & consolidate their  friendship.

Birbhum District Police has celebrated 15th August’17 as 71st Independence Day of India. Accordingly, various cultural programme as well as societal tasks like blood-donation camp, free eye-checkup camp, distribution of garments to the down-trodden people, athletes & other sports have been organized like previous year by almost all the Units of Birbhum Police. This year, such auspicious day has passed peacefully as usual.

On 19.08.2017 Birbhum District Police organized a Community Outreach Program at Harinsinga Football Ground under Md Bazar PS where various programs, medical check up camp, distribution of medicine, Safe Drive Save Life Camp, Felicitation program to the adivasi students and adivasi female football match etc. Training to kanyashree girls in karate have been organized

On 27.08.2017 one eye check up camp organized at Gomai-Durgapur morh with joint effort of Nanoor and Labpur PSs. Total 175 patients came to take facility of free eye checking. Out of them 114 nos of spectacle were given as per their requirements.

On 16.09.2017 morning, a cycle rally was organized on behalf of newly created Mallarpur PS, styled as – “Rally for Unity – 2017”. This rally was started from Nimitala of Mallarpur and terminated at Gadadharpur. DM, Birbhum, SP, Birbhum, Addl, SP (HQ), Birbhum and other officials, students of different schools, members of various local clubs etc. participated in the rally. The main objective of the rally was to spread a message to the general people for Safe Drive Save Life, narcotic free society, to maintain communal harmony as well as to maintain peace and tranquility.

On 11.9.17 organised a anti drug rally and a sensitisation and awareness program related to drug abuse held at Hetampur among the students of Hetampur college & schools of Hetampur, local Panchayat members, clum members, respectable persons, drug addected person and also previous drug addected persons in presence of DSP HQ, Birbhum, CI, Dubrajpur, Principal of Hetampur College and other dignatories, near about 500 persons attended the program.

On the eve of FIFA – U17 World Cup, 2017, Birbhum District Police on Behalf of Government of West Bengal organized a Rally on 07.10.2017.

On 08.11.17 in b/w 21:45 hrs and 23:05 hrs acting on source information SI Ujjal Baran Das of Sadaipur PS along with force hold raid at Meherpur More on Panuria-Sahapur road and arrested two accd. namely-1) Sk Lalan (23) s/o-Lt Kabir Sk of Benachity, PS-Durgapur, Dist-West Burdwan (2) Rahim Sk (22) s/o-Lt Sukur Sk of Amrai more, PS-Durgapur, Dist-West Burdwan. From their possession a Toto Van having Number- T-41/M8-0173 and styled as ‘’ ইন্দ্রযান’’ was recovered and seized which was procured by them by theft from Durgapur Town area as confessed by them. One improvised fire arms having butt, body, barrel, firing pin, trigger etc. length approx-9 inch loaded with one round live ammunition was also recovered and seized from the possession.

A counseling program with disturbed Couples was organized by “Lmirst Institute” Santiniketan at Labpur sanskriti Bahini Bhaban under the direct supervision of Addl. SP Bolpur on 11.11.17 with a view to solve their conjugal problems.

 SI Pralay Kumar Mondal recovered two victim girls namely Parbati Singha @ Sraboni Singha (16) d/o Pradip Singh  and another  Nilima Ray (20) d/o Lt Tapan Ray of Muradihi Colony Ward no. 7 PS Sainthia Dist : Birbhum from vill: Ganawli PS: Lauria, Dist: Bettiah, Bihar who were kidnapped by the accused persons namely (1) Sanjay Yadav (30) s/o  Lt Palita Yadav, vill: Ganawli PS: Lauria Dist : Bettiah, Bihar, (2) Mala Bagdi(Yadav) (25) w/o Sanjay Yadav of Do and (3) Anwar Ansari (40) s/o Lt  Bagar Ansari of vill: Momintola, Bishnupurwa, PS : Lauria Dist Bettiah, Bihar and also arrested the all three involved above noted accused persons.

A counselling programme is organised  by "Elmharst Institute" Santiniketan with disputed families at Labpur Sanskriti Bahini Bhaban under the direct supervision of Addl.SP Bolpur today (on 06.01.2018). The counselling members trying to solve their problems one by one in two separate room.

On 21.12.2018 Nalhati PS organised the Adibashi Sports & felicitation to maritorious Adibashi students-2018 at Kanglapajari village football ground under Haridaspur GP. Total 458 nos of adibashi boys & girls participated in 17 events from Banior, Boutia & Haridaspur GP under Nalhati PS. In addition to that 22 nos of talented Adibashi students studied in class VIII, IX & X of 09 High schools have been felicitated with book, pen etc and prize was also given to 95  nos boys & girls in sports. Chairman, Nalhati Municipality, Pradhan, Upo-pradhan & members of GPs, game teachers of different schools and other local respectable persons were remain present during prize distribution ceremony.

On 23.12.18 Dubrajpur PS organised a Community Development Programme of Adivasi people of the PS area in Basahari football ground under Paduma GP. A large number of people along with some respectable person from Adavasi Community of the PS area took part in the interaction. The SDO Sadar, DySP HQ, Birbhum, Jt. BDO Dubrajpur, CI B Dubrajpur, Sabhapati Illambazar Panchyet Samity, Pradhans and Karmadhyaksha of some GP of Dubrajpur PS area were present in the said programme. 

On 26.12.2018 Md Bazar PS organized community  development programme at girijore high school ground under Varkata GP by the Adibashi community followed by football tournament, facilitation to the toppers of MP and HS exam among Adibasi community. Local respectable persons have kind attended.

Community Development Programme organized by Rajnagar PS on 29.12.18. Organized awareness rally against Daini (Witch) Pratha, superstitious belief, Child Marriage, Child  Labour, Child / Girls  Trafficking etc and in favour of SDSL with the members of Adivasi community and other respectable personalities of the Block  - Panchayat Samity - Gram Panchayats. More than 2500 participants of all ages participated.

After thorough search, he recovered 01 (one) improvised country made pipe gun made of iron having length approx 08” (inch) having butt, barrel, firing pin, trigger etc loaded with 01 (one) round live cartridge 8MM, KF seized from his possession from left waist under garments and seized the same under proper seizure list. On 09.02.19 an awarness programme regading SDSL, eve-teasing, cyber crime, Drug abusement etc. organized by Nalhati PS at Kaitha High School under Nalhati PS. Ex-Principal of Nalhati Hiralal Bhakat College, members of Childline are also attended and delivered their valuable speech in the programme

On 17.02.19 Backward Class Tribal Community Development Programme was held at Beldanga by Kankartala PS about the awereness programme relating to SDSL, eve-teasing , Drug abusement, Child Marriage & Witchcraft related issues etc

On 17.02.19 a Health Check up Camp was organized by Kankartala PS with the collaboration of Nagrakonda BPHC & Barhra PHC. Total 68 nos of inhabitants including female members of Barhra Villager checked up their physique by the MOs.

On the occasion of World Blood Donors Day on 14.6.19, Dubrajpur PS police have organised a Blood Donation Camp at Dubrajpur Dharmasala where 100 number of officers and force including CVFs, Village Police and club members are donated their blood

On  15.06.2019 a blood donation camp organised by Bolpur PS where police personnel, VPs and CVFs donated their blood. 

On 19.06.2019 a  health check up camp  was organized by Kankartala Police Station at Yuba  Adarsha Club of Kankartala  with the intervention of the member of Yuba  Adarsha Club with a view to increase relationship of   Police – Public as well as interest of needy  people of the area. Teams of various specialist doctors of SANAKA HOSPITAL Durgapur have been attended the said camp and examined people of that area very carefully

On 22.06.2019 Margram Police Station organized a blood donation camp at Margram PS in August presence of Honble MIC Shree Asis Banerjee, where total 72 persons donated blood.

On 28.06.2019 a health check up camp was organized by Kankartala Police and the teachers of Barha Shisu Sathi Sikha Niketan School at Barha Shisu Sathi Sikha Niketan with a view to increase Police – Public relation.  Specialist doctors of Kolkata Pearless Hospital  and  Monipal Hospitals of Sikkim & Kolkata have been attended the said camp and examined the child students and their parents of that area.

Murarai PS & Paikar PS under Birbhum district police arrested 04 Motorcycle lifters and recovered 22 stolen Motorcycles in connection with Murarai PS Case No. 63/20 dtd. 22.06.20 u/s 379/411/413/414 IPC & Paikar PS Case No. 145/20 dtd. 18.06.20 u/s 379/413/414 IPC.

On 27.09.2020 acting on a tip off a secret source information police party of Santiniketan PS held raid at Taltore village under Santiniketan PS and apprehended 06 (six) accused persons. On search 02 (two) 7.65 mm Pistols, 02(two) one Shutters, 01(one) 9mm Pistol, 11 (eleven) ammunitions and 5.6 kg explosive substances recovered from accused persons. This refers to Santiniketan PS Case No. 147/2020 dated- 27.09.2020 u/s 25(1-A)/35 Arms Act, 3&5 ES Act, 14A (b), 14C Foreigners Act & 120B/212 IPC.

Acting on secret information, today (06.06.2021) Dubrajpur PS Police arrested 03 involved persons. After prolong interrogation and persuasions 14 nos including 05 nos of brand new costly stolen motor cycles were recovered from their possession. Raid is continuing. This refers to Dubrajpur PS Case No. 130/21 dt 06.06.2021 u/s 379/411/413/414/120B/34 IPC.

On 26.06.21 at 14.25 hrs received a written complaint from SI Subir Kr. Mondal of Labpur PS to the effect that he along with force while performing anti crime Morning Mobile duty secured arrest of one Sk Lalan (25 yrs) S/o Lt. Sk Hanif  of vill.- Balaichandi, PS- Sainthia, Dist. Birbhum from Uttar Dugapur, near Bishoypur village  under Labpur PS, Birbhum  and seized i) one improvised country made Pipe Gun having butt, trigger , firing pin and barrel,  measuring about 2ft 03 inches in length ii) one improvised country made Pipe Gun having butt, trigger, firing pin and barrel,  measuring about 11 inches in length, iii) one 7.62 MM live cartridge, iv) three numbers of 08 MM live cartridge.
